Shipping policy
At Fernwood Outdoor Furniture, all items are shipped directly from our trusted third-party suppliers. We do not warehouse or ship inventory ourselves. Shipping methods, carriers, timelines, and costs are determined by the supplier fulfilling your order.
Shipping Methods & Carriers
- Orders are shipped via the supplier’s preferred method (e.g., parcel, freight, or specialized services).
- Fernwood does not select or manage the shipping carrier directly.
- Tracking information will be provided when made available by the supplier.
Standard & Expedited Shipping
- Standard shipping is included unless otherwise stated.
- Expedited shipping may be available upon request if offered by the supplier. Any added cost for expedited services will be quoted and approved before billing.
- To inquire about faster delivery options, contact support@fernwood.com prior to placing your order.
Shipping Costs
- We aim to offer free shipping wherever possible, in alignment with our suppliers’ policies.
- If a supplier charges for shipping, this cost will be clearly communicated and passed through to the customer.
- Shipping charges reflect the actual cost incurred by the supplier and may vary based on location, size, or delivery type.
Freight Deliveries & Commercial Orders
- Larger or commercial orders are typically delivered by freight.
- Standard freight delivery is curbside only, meaning delivery will be made to the nearest point accessible by truck.
- Additional services (e.g., white glove, liftgate, or indoor delivery) may be available at an extra cost and must be requested prior to shipping.
- Fernwood and our suppliers will always use best efforts to accommodate delivery circumstances, but customers are responsible for ensuring adequate access, staffing, and any delivery site-specific requirements.
Delivery Site Conditions
- Customers must provide accurate delivery instructions and notify Fernwood of any site restrictions (gates, access hours, limited truck space, etc.).
- Missed deliveries or redelivery fees caused by access limitations will be the customer’s responsibility.
Delivery Timeframes
- Orders are generally shipped within 5–15 business days, though custom or made-to-order items may take longer.
- Delivery timelines are estimates and not guaranteed.
- Fernwood is not liable for shipping delays caused by carriers, suppliers, weather, labor shortages, customs, or other third parties.
Force Majeure
- Fernwood is not liable for any failure to deliver goods due to causes beyond our control, including natural disasters, political unrest, pandemics, labor strikes, or other force majeure events.
Damaged or Incorrect Items
- All shipments must be inspected immediately upon arrival.
- Any issues must be reported within 3 days, along with clear photographic evidence — ideally with a visible timestamp.
- Photos should show the item, packaging, and any relevant labels or shipping damage.
- Fernwood will coordinate with the supplier to resolve issues, but final decisions rest with the supplier.
Improper Handling Disclaimer
- Fernwood is not responsible for damage caused after delivery — including improper handling, unpacking, or misuse.
Customer Shipping Accuracy
- Customers are fully responsible for providing accurate shipping addresses and contact details.
- We are not responsible for misdeliveries, delays, or lost shipments due to incorrect information entered at checkout.
Geographic Coverage
- We currently ship to all 50 U.S. states.
- Shipping to Hawaii and Alaska may incur additional fees or limitations, depending on the supplier. Contact us before ordering if you’re located in either state.
- We do not ship to U.S. territories, including Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
International Shipping
- International shipping is not standard. Custom international requests may be considered on a case-by-case basis and are subject to feasibility and additional costs.
